Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, farming runs deep in Phillip’s family culture and heritage. Phillip’s father, Phillip A., a chemical and financial engineer, has been growing primarily tomatoes and leafy vegetables in his two 15,000 square foot greenhouses for almost two decades. Even before that, his grandfather Hugo was a dedicated farmer who provided for seven children through his hard work on the land for several decades.
Building on his rich tribal farming knowledge, Phillip has developed a strong technology background. He holds a Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo, a Data Science degree from the University of Toronto, and an MBA from Arthur Lok Jack. This unique blend of traditional farming expertise and advanced technological education positions Phillip at the forefront of modern sustainable agriculture.
